From June 13 to 16, leading researchers from the University of Latvia, Dr. Ieva Birka and Dr. Didzis Kļaviņš, participated with three presentations at the 29th conference of the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS) "Baltic Way: Unity and Help" at Yale University in New Haven, USA. One of the central topics of the presentations was "Prepared Together: Stronger Together - Disaster Preparedness and Public Perceptions in Finland, Latvia, and Germany," which focused on the recently conducted survey of the "Prepared Together: Stronger Together" project in Latvia, Finland, and Germany regarding public preparedness for potential crises.

After the AABS conference, the leading researchers visited Columbia University in New York and met with Jeffrey Schlegelmilch, Director of the National Center for Disaster Preparedness (Pandemic Response Institute), to inform about the University of Latvia CBSS project No. PSF 2023/06 "Prepared Together: Stronger Together" and discuss opportunities for collaboration in joint research projects. Dr. Ieva Birka and Dr. Didzis Kļaviņš also met with Toni-Shae Aqeelah Freckleton, Chief of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).
